Over last year or so I have worked on a few Music shoots, until recently it alway made more sense for me to work on motion work for music, such as my Music Videos and also my Live Visuals for behind the band's. But I am slowly building up a collection of shots of Bands, here are 2 recent ones of Salford pop band The Ting Tings who have had a great year and also Manchester musician, Magic Arm (His website)who has an amazing album of kind of scruffy elcetronic acostic folk type stuff.

I find it interesting working with this kind of photography, I have to think of a few different things at once, I try and create interesting well lit graphic images, whilst at the same time trying to show some of the energy and attitude of the band, this usually takes a while and I don't like to have position the subjects myself, I prefer to almost let them direct them self’s as far as the poise and look goes, shooting many many shots with out really looking, then working with the musicians to pick the image which shows them as they would like.
